Last November 23, 2013, Brent Manila held an orientation seminar for the coming Model United Nations Assembly 2014. In this orientation, I was accompanied with our advisers, Ms. Lena Ranallo and Mr. Nicholas Schulte, and other MUN delegates. I was really excited for this seminar because I wanted to learn more about the Model United Nations Assembly and how it really works.
When we got into the venue, we saw a lot of other delegates who also came to learn. I was amazed by how some are really knowledgeable and good at it already. We were grouped into countries as a practice and I worked with my other Brent Baguio students and 1 student from Brent Manila. We learnt about different specific parliament procedures and rules through real practices. Although we have learned these things during our club time, it was really different when it was put to application.
Throughout this experience, I really felt that I am learning more about it although I was really afraid to speak in front of a lot of people. I learned that I have to overcome that fear so that I can step closer to my dream which is to become a diplomat. I believe this experience was really important to me as it made me learn about what is ahead of me. It made me work harder towards my dream.
