Brent Run IV

Last May 11, 2014, I joined the first run of my life. I have decided to join this run because this was a good project for a good cause. The benefits of the run was to go for the Schools for schools project which aims to rebuild a school in Guinan, Samar. This area was heavily devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. Since it was for a good cause, I was happy to be part of it.

Although I have decided to join the 11K, I was really worried about my physical abilities. Since it was really a challenge for me to be in such a run, I really thought that I might give up in the middle of the race. When I was in the race, I was with many friends who encouraged me that I can finish the race. We sometimes just walked, sometimes ran and we enjoyed the surrounding that we had when we were running. When we were doing that, I realized that I can actually be determined to finish the race and overcome my weakness in doing physical activities.

When I finished the race, I actually felt really good that I was able to do it until the end. I think I was able to do it with the help of my friends. Also, I realized that these events are really good to overcome my weaknesses and at the same time, I can contribute to a cause. This event made me think that I want to do more runs like this in the future. If I get the opportunity, I will definitely join more races.

  1. This is a one off activity. You must do more about running if you want this to be counted.
