Cambiare Kabataan Music Program is a community youth music program that offers classes, workshops, and performance opportunities to interested and motivated students. I got to know this program through Mrs. Wright. In this program, I was allowed to teach piano to the children. I went on this program every week which was held at Irisan.
I got involved in this activity with Kelly, who taught violin to the children. Before we went on our first lesson, I was really excited to meet the children and find out how enthusiastic they are towards playing the piano. When we reached the place, I was really happy that there were a lot of children who were interested to play the piano. They ranged from grades 1 to 6 and there were even smaller kids. I was really sad that there were only 2 available keyboards so many children had to share. I honestly though that it was really tiring at first because I had about 15 children at the same time. However, it was really fulfilling when I saw that the children really learned fast. I felt some distance between me and the children at first but I really sensed that we were getting closer every meeting. They were also happy that they were learning something.
