Like the other days, we started off with an ice breaker to get closer to the kids. I believe that ice breakers are always fun and a good way to get to know them more.
As we finished the ice breaker, we gave the kids the papers that they would use to form their rockets. We allowed the kids to be as creative as they can and they showed that by coloring in different colors, using different materials and others. When they were making their rockets, I found myself somewhat closer to the kids than our 1st activity. It was easier to communicate, laugh together and just enjoy the time doing the activity. After they were done with their rockets, they were given time to fly their own rockets using straws and I believe that this is when the kids enjoyed the most. They were running around to fly it, pick it up and fly it over and over again. When their rockets wouldn't fly, they would figure out by themselves the reason behind it or even asked me to help them fly their rockets. They continued to improve their rockets so that it could fly the furthest and the highest.
I would once say that it was really tiring running after each kid so that they would be safe and so that they would be able to learn from it. However, I believe that the kids really enjoyed the activity as it really caught their attention and they concentrated on making it into a success. I really found myself happy in the end to see the happy faces of the kids. I believe that it was worth all the sweats and efforts to put things into one and I also think that it was possible because of the cooperation that our group had.
