Ballet is a dance that requires different physical strengths to carry out its fundamental movements. During the vacation, I decided to keep my body fit by learning the ballet once again. Until I was grade 8, I learned ballet and have continued it during the vacations. I gave up during grade 8 because I had so much back pain due to a curved spine. I regretted so much that I gave up on it due to the pain that I was feeling. Because of that, I decided to try doing it once again.
I started the activity by enrolling in the Guro Youth center in Korea for a month (July 1 - July 30). I realized that there was not much time left of my vacation but I still wanted to try out what I have failed to continue. When I registered, I was excited to learn it. The instructor was really nice that she pointed out every wrong move that I had. I realized I have forgotten so many moves and so, I had to learn it the proper way once again. Even just on the first ballet class, I started to feel the pain. However, I did not want to give up this time. As time went on, I felt that I was started to feel more confident and happy about doing what I always wanted to continue. I endured the pain and completely all the lessons that I enrolled to. I was proud of myself that I was able to finish what I always aimed to do and wanted to learn ballet further.
From these ballet lessons, I did not only kept myself busy with physical activities but I learned that endurance is really needed to achieve something that I desire to do. If I overcome that fear of physical weakness, I would be able to achieve much more than that of I planned to achieve. Although I still have to work on making myself more healthy, I believe that this activity really allowed me to take confidence in doing different physical activities.
